Self-Healing with the Pendulum: Clearing Hidden Beliefs & Subconscious Programming

In my previous post, I discussed the importance of connecting with the subconscious mind and establishing a loving, gentle, and cooperative form of communication as a vital step in becoming an effective dowser. However, there is much more to be gained by exploring the subconscious more deeply—and this is where the pendulum becomes a powerful tool for both self-awareness and healing.

The subconscious mind is often described as the soil of the mind, while the conscious mind is the gardener that plants the seeds—our thoughts, intentions, and beliefs. Unlike the conscious mind, the subconscious does not reason or analyze. Instead, it accepts whatever is planted within it, without judgment or discrimination.

Another helpful way to understand the subconscious mind is to think of it as a powerful computer that has been with you since birth. One of its primary functions is to store information. It is the repository of all memories, experiences, thoughts, emotions, imagination, habits, and impulses you have accumulated throughout your life. These stored patterns can be thought of as programs, much like software installed on a computer.

From early childhood, you have been receiving programs from many sources—parents, grandparents, teachers, religious figures, friends, movies, television, and society as a whole. Many of these programs were beneficial and supportive. Others, however, were limiting or harmful. Because a child’s conscious mind is not yet fully developed, it lacks the ability to reason, question, or filter incoming information. As a result, many negative programs became embedded in the subconscious mind without scrutiny.

Life experiences themselves also become programs. Positive experiences form pleasant memories and healthy patterns. Negative experiences, however, can turn into complexes, limiting beliefs, emotional triggers, unhealthy habits, or unresolved trauma.

These negative programs are often the hidden source of frustration, unhappiness, poverty, emotional pain, and even destructive behavior in many people today. They act like energetic blocks or “locks” that interfere with your connection to the Higher Self, manifesting as broken relationships, addictions, financial struggles, and even physical illness.

We owe the fields of psychiatry and psychotherapy a deep debt of gratitude for the essential work they do in helping people recognize, process, and heal these deeply ingrained patterns. Yet many subconscious programs can remain unseen or unresolved—which is where the pendulum can become a powerful tool for diagnosing and clearing this energy.

By working with the pendulum to gently uncover and clear negative subconscious programs, you become your own healer. Not only will you identify and release these limiting beliefs, but you will also be able to reprogram your mind with empowering beliefs that support the life you want to manifest.

By now, you've programmed your pendulum to give you no/yes or negative/positive responses. Begin by finding a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for a few minutes. Relax, center yourself, and while holding your pendulum, say the following statements out loud. Observe and record how the pendulum responds to each one.

Self-Worth & Self-Esteem

·        “I’m happy being me.”

·        “I love myself.”

·        “I believe I have inherent value simply because I exist.”

·        “I am worthy of love and respect.”

·        “I am confident in myself.”

·        “I believe I am enough as I am.”

These statements represent a core sense of self-worth—independent of achievement, appearance, or external approval. Record how the pendulum responds to each statement, then continue dowsing by asking follow-up questions.

For example, let’s say the pendulum responds negatively to the statement:

“I believe I have inherent value simply because I exist.”

Pause, re-center yourself, and begin asking follow-up questions such as:

·        “Do I believe I must fill a certain societal role, job position, or career to have value?”

·        “Do I believe I have to make a certain amount of money annually to have value?”

·        “Do I believe I have to look a certain way physically to have value?”

This type of self-assessment reveals the extent to which society and the world around us have shaped our sense of self-worth and identity. Many of these programs create deep challenges because they are rooted in social constructs, yet we strive to live up to them in the hope of finding happiness. Those who are awakening to their true nature—God-realization—are beginning to release these conditioned beliefs and discover joy in their Divine Nature and oneness with God.

Physical Health

·        “I am healthy.”

·        “It is natural for me to be healthy every day.”

·        “Having a healthy body is right for me.”

With these statements, you can probe your subconscious beliefs about health and well-being. Many illnesses and bodily symptoms are psychosomatic in nature, meaning their root cause lies in negative programs, suppressed emotions, or unresolved experiences.

Use the same technique as in the self-worth exercise and ask follow-up questions such as:

  • Is the root cause of this illness or bodily symptom fear?
  • Is it shame?
  • Is it trauma?

Pinpoint the underlying emotion, belief, or experience. When you discover it, do not attempt to suppress it. Instead, accept it, acknowledge it, and allow it to release. Gently tell your subconscious mind that it is time to let this pattern go for the well-being of your physical body.

You may form an inner dialogue such as:

“Aren’t we tired of this negative reaction in our body or behavior?”
“Subconscious mind, it’s time we move past this. Let’s choose health, happiness, and release this belief.”

Use the following statements to check for your beliefs about money and prosperity with the pendulum:

Prosperity Consciousness

·        “Money is a good thing.”

·        “Having an abundance of money is a good thing.”

·        “I believe there is enough money to go around.”

·        “I have an inherent right to be abundant and prosperous.”

How many times were you told growing up that money was the root of all evil? Did you hear your parents say there wasn’t enough money to go around? These are subconscious beliefs that can work against us, and reprogramming them is a crucial step in changing our reality.

Reprogramming the Subconscious

This process offers a clear method for probing the subconscious mind and uncovering programs or beliefs that may be working against your growth. Often, a childhood—or even past-life—experience may surface, revealing where a faulty belief was first accepted as truth.

The good news is that these negative beliefs can be removed. As mentioned earlier, the subconscious mind is fertile soil. You, as the gardener, can pull out the weeds (incorrect programs) and plant new ones. This is done through affirmations and gentle, loving self-talk with the subconscious—consistently, day and night—until your pendulum begins to respond positively to the new beliefs.

If most of your pendulum responses are positive, you can feel confident that your subconscious mind is aligned with you and supporting the life you desire to manifest. If you receive negative responses, simply continue the work. Transformation is a process, not a failure.

Final Thoughts

By learning to communicate properly with the subconscious mind—through acknowledgment, acceptance, and the feeling of negative emotions, limiting beliefs, and unresolved traumas—you gain the ability to release them permanently. In doing so, you reclaim your role as both gardener and healer of your inner world.
